party time

We had a fun little party for Hudson on Friday night.

First we decorated:

cupcakes, the wall, Hudson's own {little} cake.

Next up was a little game:

We printed 13 pictures of Hudson (from 2 weeks to 1yr) and hung them up in random order. Everyone tried to put them in the right place. We decided he didn't change a lot from month to month. It was fun to see the progression though.

Presents were next on the list:

Hudson did great. He wanted to play with stuff but not too bad. He was really great at sharing and wanted to give all the wrapping to Ashlee, I think. It might have been Cambree. One of the little girls. I think he likes the attention! He got some fun gifts that we are still enjoying. Thanks for being so generous, everyone!!

And finally, the cake!

We had a little mishap at the beginning. While we were singing happy birthday Hudson reached out and grabbed the candle. We all just watched him and it took a second for it to register what happened. We quickly got some cold water on it and went back to the festivities. He was a little unsure at first but once we showed him what to do he went to town. He even face planted for a second. His sweet big sister fed him gobs and gobs of frosting from her finger. All the kids hovered around hoping that they would soon get a cupcake. Only Ashlee was brave enough to ask if she could have her own! She is funny.

We ended the night eating, visiting, and watching the kids play with all the newly acquired toys!
