Happy birthday little man!

Well, the day finally came! Our baby boy turned one. It doesn't really seem possible...but it is true. I'd like to think that we've started some fun traditions. Hopefully the kids will cherish them as the get older.

First up, donuts from Maverik. If you haven't had the "chocolate chocolate" donuts from Maverik or Costco (or wherever else they are sold) you are missing out. Its basically cake for breakfast.

Next up was a present at breakfast. He got a new set of car keys. I think the other kids were just as excited about a present as Hudson was.

To round the night off we headed out to Evanston's last home game of the season. It was also senior night for Nicole, Brent's little sister. It was not the most fun night but a fitting way to end his birthday. If you remember he was only 3 weeks old when we went to state basketball last year!

The days might have started slow but man, a year can fly by when you aren't paying attention! Hudson is so much fun to have around. He is mostly content and happy. He loves toys that make noise and he is so proud of his walking abilities (and so are we)! He is attached to his daddy. That doesn't hurt my feelings one bit! We'll take advantage of that while Brent is still home. He has mastered going up the stairs but has no interest in learning how to go down. He is a little bit of a picky eater but I think that if he can feed himself he is much happier.

He had his well child check on Tuesday and he is still holding strong in the 5th percentile of everything. I' m not sure on all the numbers but his weight is about 19 pounds. I think that might make him the biggest baby at this age. None of our kids have hit the 20 pound mark before their first birthday. What can you do?

Like I have said so many times before, we love our little Hudson boy. He is the perfect ending to a pretty great group of kids!
