Fishing with dad

At the begining of June Brent took the boys fishing (or wishing as Corbin calls it) for the first time this summer. To say they were excited was an understatement. Brent lured them out of bed with the promise of donuts. Bridger prefers the maple kind and apparently Corbin does too. Brent said he was a sad boy when he only had chocolate. They came home a little disappointed that they didn't catch any "wish".

Not catching any fish didn't deter them from trying again, this time at the ponds. It took a little bit more convincing, but they both went. About an hour later they came home and everyone was kind of grouchy. I called Brent to see if they were having fun and he said, no, we're coming home right now. All the boys have done is whine and complain. So, with this information in the back of my mind I told Bridger that if he only whines and complains while they're fishing Dad won't take him any more. His reply? "I know, Dad already said we're not going fishing anymore". Apparently no one had fun. All I could do was laugh and remind Brent that they are 2 and 3. He eventually saw the humor in the fact that all they really wanted to do was throw rocks...kind of saw the humor!
