The run down

We had an interesting week last week. I'm just going to briefly summarize.
  • Went to the fair. Unless you're involved in 4-H the fair is lame-0. I really wish that they would figure out how to make it a community type thing.
Bridger begged to go on one of the scary carnival rides. The things we will do for small children.
Corbin wasn't so lucky. He got a ride in the stroller!
  • We looked at houses. We finally found one that we thought was in our price range. We even took my parents and Brent's sister to look at it with us to make sure it wasn't too good to be true. We loved it and decided that we would put an offer in. I called our financial guy to see what the monthly payments would be...yeah, we didn't put an offer on the house. We decided to wait through the winter and get our finances in order so that we can comfortably afford a house that we like. I think the decision will pay off because we have seen prices start to drop in the past couple of weeks.
  • Brent talked to his doctor again. She wants him to do two more weeks of physical therapy. We were shocked. He is feeling really good, but she still won't release him to go back to work. What can you do...two more weeks of freedom!
  • Saturday we thought it would be fun to head up to Mirror Lake and have a little picnic lunch and then try fishing a bit. It was a beautiful day and I'm pretty sure that all of Utah thought Mirror Lake sounded good, too. Every parking lot was full, as were the sides of the road. We finally found an empty picnic table, hauled our cooler up, quickly ate our lunch and then headed home. Brent counted about 10 float tubes, 8 canoes, and then the banks were lined with people. Mirror lake isn't that big! It was fun to get out and enjoy the outdoors....kind of. The boys loved playing on the rocks and in the dirt so it made the trip worthwhile.

So that is our week in a nutshell. Sorry, there was a lot of complaining. It wasn't that bad. Just some regular life type stuff I guess!

Oh yeah, how could I forget...Bridger is mostly potty-trained. Its been a few stressful days but over all I think he is doing quite well. He really doesn't like to wear a pull-up at all. I still make him at night because I'm not ready to change sheets in the middle of the night. I'm kind of selfish that way. He went to church yesterday and ran errands with us today in his underwear. I was quite proud of him. He can even nap without having accidents...so far! I hope I don't jinx the whole process, but so far so good...pretty much.

Jenny, it had to be Bridger's idea. For a couple of weeks I'd ask him when he was going to go potty on the toilet and he'd say tomorrow. Finally I said that on Monday you'll start and he agreed. So when Monday came he asked if it was Monday and I told him yes, you need to wear your underwear. He was fine with it. For the first few days I'd put a pull up on him if we were going to be gone for a while. After a couple of days he didn't even want that. Tuesday is the only day he fought me on it. I about gave up and then Brent said he'd take him. Since then it has been so easy. He doesn't like to be reminded, but he will go. I'm just trying to get him to tell me when he needs to go. If its been over 2 hours I make him go. So there hasn't been any set thing. He only wanted treats the first couple of times. After that if he remembered he'd get one but if not, he didn't care. Sometimes he didn't even want a treat. It was actually easier than I thought it would be. Only 2 accidents!!

Wow! Congratulations. You make it sound easy. It was so stressful for me to potty train. What a good little boy you have. I agree with you on the Fair thing. It was fun when we were kids, and involved, but, going back, it was lame. Up here the fairs are sooooo huge, sometimes I wish for the little Uinta County Fair. Good luck house hunting, and enjoy the last couple weeks with your hubby home.

You will probably do 3 kids beautifully! Way better than me.
