Perfect Summer Day

Today was a perfect summer day. I hope we have many more like it. Hopefully in the future there will be pictures to document it. The camera wasn't charged today. Bummer.

  • First we woke up early and were ready for the day by about 8:30.
  • The only part that wasn't so perfect was the pink eye that I came down with yesterday. I called the dr's office and got an appointment to get some eye drops. Lovely. Don't ask me where I got pink eye because I have no idea. The only thing I can think of is that I caught my boys cold and it came out in my eye. Its great.
  • We then headed out to find some flowers for our flowerbeds in front of our house. After three stores we finally found some. Who knew that picking flowers out could be so hard!
  • We then diverted from the perfect summer day so that I could go to the Dr. Corbin accompanied me while Brent and Bridger stayed home.
  • When I got home Bridger wanted to go on a picnic. We compromised and ate lunch at home and then headed out to the park (the boys eat much better at home when playground equipment isn't tempting them).
  • After about 40 minutes the boys were hot and tired and so we headed home.
  • Both boys took good naps while I planted the flowers with moral support from Brent (remember the back surgery? Yeah, still can't sit or bend down).
  • In the middle of planting Bridger woke up and helped me.
  • I made dinner with minimal fussing from the boys.
  • After dinner we headed out to the state park for a nice little walk. Our nice little walk turned into quite the little hike. There were times that we weren't sure where we would end up. On our walk we saw a moose in the meadow, the elk and buffalo that are always at the park, rabbit, squirrel, deer, and geese. It was quite the adventure.
  • Hiking so much worked up our apetite so we stopped and got some ice cream for a treat. It was fun to sit outside the cute little ice cream shop and eat it. A perfect ending to a perfect day.

What a fun day. Sorry about your pink eye. I've actually never encountered that, with myself, or my children. (Knock on wood) So, you husband can walk, but he can't bend down, or sit? I hope the healing is still going well. It must be nice to have an adult around to talk to all the time, though. I crave adult conversation!! So, your'e over halfway now? Thank you baby ticker. I am trying all I can to get this baby out of me ASAP!

It was so funny to drive by and see you slaving away and Brent just laying there in his lawn chair. If people saw that and didn't know the situation they would probably think he is quite the jerk and the worst husband ever!! hahah it was a great site :) looked like you were doing a great job though!!
