3rd WEEK's the charm...please!

To continue on with posts about the boys health...

Bridger is much better. I am guessing the sores in his mouth have healed because he ate pineapple at dinner tonight without even flinching. He hasn't had a fever for a couple of days.

After sanitizing and stressing about not sharing germs, I am happy to report that I don't think that Corbin caught the dreaded HFMD.

He has, unfortunately, come down with another ear infection. How many ear infections do you let your kids have before you look at doing something with their ears...like cutting them off. Just kidding. Like tubes?

This is the 3rd ear infection this month. This time the Dr. didn't mess around and just gave him the shot of antibiotic. He seems much happier tonight. Hopefully it works and we have learned how to be germ free.

Bridger has learned that if someone is sick you DO. NOT. share anything with them. When we would try to give Corbin something off of our plate Bridger would yell: No, Tobin sick. Bridger was getting really frustrated with Brent when he was sharing ice cream with Corbin.

Prior to the germ fest we've had, the boys would switch binks like it was nobody's business. Now, they stick to their own. As soon as they are all better, they will have no binks. Wish us luck. I'm not excited about that day.

Then its on to potty training. I think if the boy can tell me he needs to be changed, he can learn to tell me before he needs to be changed. Anyone want to come potty train him for me? I'll pay you.

Not like you really want my opinion, but since I'm lukcy enought to have a husband thats a Dr. I'll pass on this tid bit. When your kids are sick, if you take them off of dairy, they will get better a lot faster. Dairy harbers bacteria. So when my kids get ear infections, we immediately take them off of dairy, and usually in a day, their ear no longer hurts. My little girl hasn't been on antibiotics since she was about 6 months old (knock on wood).

Even though Jared's a Dr., he doesn't have prescription rights, so finding alternatives are very important, and this is one thing that he learned in med school that is on top of our list!

Sorry you couldn't pay me! I tried to potty train Jordan when he wasn't ready so I gave up. Then all of a sudden right after he turned 3 he did it on his own. Best decision ever! I am not even considering PT Peyton!
Good luck I hope he isn't stubborn like my kids!

I would also make sure that he's really ready to be potty trained, because it can turn around and bite you in the bud. I tried 3 times with Rohne before it actually stuck. And, only do one thing at once. If you're gonna do the bink first, give it a month to adjust, and then try potty training. Too much change does not make training any easier. All I can say is, good luck. Rohne was actually easier to potty train than Taylee, but I think it was because he had her to encourage him.

I've tried to hire out potty training too. For some reason no one ever volunteers... Good luck. I hope that you can all get healthy and stay that way! It sounds like you're most of the way there.

Hi Collette,
Potty training was a nightmare with my boy Jayken, and My little girl is almost potty trained. She wanted to go when she was 18 months old. I think they learn quicker from the older ones. My little Jayken still has days where he holds it and won't go unless I tell him. I potty trained him at almost 2 1/2 three. I think boys are definately harder. But yours might just surprise you, But Emilys right don't push itf he'll go when he's ready. I tried the every 20 minutes and it seems to work well. If you set a timer and have a sticker chart that gets my kids excited. But that potty training is the hardest thing about raising kids I think. Good luck.
