Pumpkin carving

Last night was the night.
We carved our ONE pumpkin.
If you live in Evanston and you don't have a pumpkin yet...you're out of luck. Sorry.

Wednesday night we went to get a couple of pumpkins and it quickly turned into a game of racing everyone else to get the last remaining pumpkins in town. Smith's had two, less than desirable, pumpkins, Wal-Mart was completely out, Jubilee had about 15-20 left. They weren't the best but we found the best one we could. It was crazy!

I had a brilliant idea: Brent gets the guts out with Bridger's help. Then I would carve the pumpkin while Brent gave the boys a bath. Some how it turned into this: Brent and Bridger dug what little guts there were out, then I gave the boys a bath, then I finished transferring the pattern and finished cutting(Brent started both of those things), when Brent's hands got tired of holding the incredibly small knife.
The boys were really good. We had fun. It was a success.

For more pumpkin fun you can check these guys out:
Megan and Jeremy's (Well mostly Jeremy's) awesome creation
Britty and Wyatt's hilarious creations (and an awesome trunk or treat truck)
Steven and Vicki's adventures in pumpkin carving
Harold and Jeanna's fantastic creations
If there are more that I missed, remind me and I'll add you to the pumpkin carving link party!

Collette,
you are way more ambitious than i was. i picked the very easiest pattern that i could to carve. i could not have done that one. by the way did you hands hurt after poking all of those holes in the pumpkin. I think i will stick to watching and taking pictures next time. have fun
