I have a few things on my mind and so this post is really all over, as far as topics. Bear with me. Or you can just look at the pictures...I don't care!
Monday night we helped Susan, Brent's mom, get her yard ready for winter. This included putting all the kids' toys away and raking a few leaves. Ha ha...a few. There were tons. So we were pretty busy. Bridger played just as hard as everyone worked. As soon as we were home and he had his pj's on, this is what he did. He slept the rest of the night.

This is how I found Corbin this morning when he woke up for the final time (he was up at 1:30 and 5:45 to eat). He looks like he is in pain, really he's just mad I didn't pick him up right away. I had to get the camera. I have no idea how he got this way. He was actually smiling when I first went in to get him.It is official: Brent is an employee of Chevron. He had been working at a Chevron plant, drafting for them, but now he works for Chevron directly, not drafting. He is an operator. Don't ask me what he will be doing...overseeing the plant or something...ask him when you see him. This is how it all went down: in May the guy he was going to be drafting with called and said he only had summer work. We kind of panicked. Brent called a guy he knows that works for Chevron. He said to put in an application for the operator job. So in May he filled out the application. We didn't hear anything and had actually kind of forgotten about it, or at least put it in the back of our minds. In August he got a call that they would like to interview him. So he interviewed to see what it was all about. At the end of August they called and offered him the job. He took it. It was a pretty big pay increase and the benefits and security of working for a big company were unbeatable. So he had to do a bunch of pre-employment stuff and he actually started with them on the 29th of September. Monday was his first day as an official Chevron employee. Sweet. I just got all of our insurance set up today. The lady was so nice and helpful. A very good first impression of a big HR department. So yay for a new job! The downside is that he will be working shift work. We decided that we could make it work.

Isn't it funny what little kids will do. Ella likes to sleep with her butt in the air. Whatever works I guess. Big huge congrats on the job. How nice that with the downturn in the economy you guys score a way awesome job (despite the shift work). :)
Hey, Dylan works for Chevron too. He is at the Salt Lake plant, he works as a chemist. Testing the gasoline and stuff (ok, probably a whole lot more than that, but I honestly don't know). Congrats though! That is great for you guys. And that is hilarious about Corbin with his arm poking out. Very cute.
I like your attitude about the shift work. There are people that are being layed off - - so yes - -shift work is great. IT will give you different times of the day to be together. With little ones at home that can be fun. The picture of Corbin is darling.
Yes, congrats on the new job. We just recently went through the same thing, and it has been so scarey, with people being laid off everywhere you go. I think Shift work will be alot easier to cope with because you are surrounded by family, which is a huge blessing, believe me!! Your boys are the cutest. Thanks for the Birthday shout-out. I wish I would have had one of your cupcakes, because I didn't have any cake. I didn't feel like making one just to eat myself!!
