Labor Day

The day started by us dragging ourselves out of bed for a yummy pancake breakfast. I say drag because it had rained all night and was just a little bit chilly. One of those days you wish you could sleep all day.
After breakfast we all settled in to watch the annual Cowboy Days parade here in Evanston.
The kids got a lot of candy. I'm serious. I don't think any kid went without. Some of the highlights are Megan's little boy Dallin in his chaps, Nicole cheering, Carly dancing, and dashing for the house with the little kids before the parade was over so we didn't get completely drenched. Notice the black clouds in the pictures. Yeah, it unleashed in the middle of the parade. It kind of put a damper on our plans for the day.

And then the rain turned to snow. Yup. This is why we love Wyoming. I know you're all jealous that we had real snow on the first of September. We really love our winters and that is why we stay! Just kidding. We were all in shock (at least I was). All weekend I told Brent to quit saying it was going to snow. It wasn't going to get that cold. I was wrong. Luckily it cleared up and now it is just chilly.

The rest of the day was spent just kind of relaxing. It was nice to not have anywhere to go. The best part was that we were able to actually enjoy the holiday for the first time since we've been married (meaning we didn't have to travel anywhere). I love that part of living here.

Yeah, I really don't miss Wyoming that much, except when i see a little boy in chaps. How cute is that? You never see Cowboy attire up here. Looks like fun, even with the wacky weather.
