We planted a garden!

if you look close there are some peas popping up

the main part of our garden
the string and stakes are mostly so we remember what and where we planted stuff!

Radishes poking through

 Raspberries coming in nicely.

Last fall we got the bug to garden. So we ripped the grass out of our side flower beds and I hauled lots of dirt (because Brent's back wouldn't let him), my dad tilled it all up and then we planted some raspberry sticks and waited for spring. Lucky for us we've had a really nice spring and we caught the gardening bug early.
My mom helped us to plan it out and we {mostly} followed her plan. I say mostly because I'm not a patient person and when it came down to it i just drew some lines in the dirt and threw the seeds in. Brent would have taken a lot longer but I just hurried and got the seeds in the ground. We are waiting until it warms up a bit to plant some other stuff.
In the mean time we check every day to see if anything is growing. Imagine our shock, surprise, and happiness when last week we checked out the dirt spots and found little green things poking through! Our raspberries are starting to come up, the peas seem to have made it, and the radishes are going crazy. All just like my mom said they would! She really does know what she is talking about!! ;)
We'll see if we should have waited on some of the other stuff or not. We may have been a little eager. I'm just excited to see stuff growing! Now if we could figure out our grass. We seem to have killed it off over the winter.

Good for you for gardening. Never did enjoy it but did it anyway. As for the grass - - - fertilize it and thatch it. Grass is usually resilient. Enjoy your efforts.
