We did State basketball a little bit different this year. We left the two youngest home. My mom and dad offered to take them for the week and after the games we had been to in Evanston, decided that was the best option. It wasn't an easy decision. I went back and forth. I finally asked my mom if she thought I was a bad mom for leaving them home. Her response was: I think you're crazy if you take them. She was right. They had so much fun at my parent's house on their own vacation.
So after dropping them in Mtn. View we headed to Casper. We were pretty lucky and only had sketchy roads in a couple of places.

This is what the suburban looked like when we pulled into Casper. We should have gotten an up close picture. It looked like ice feathers. So cool.
First stop was state cheer and dance. Brent had five cousins and Nicole competing! I love this night, even if it is kind of long. I don't have pictures of them getting their awards because, honestly, I was done by then and Brent had left and yeah, no pictures of the awards. The cheer leaders took 2nd and 3rd and the Dancers took 2nd.
The next day we were on to Basketball and swimming. I think that is all we did for the next 3 days.
To make a long story short our girls won one and lost two. The boys took state! There was some seriously intense basketball that took place...all after 9pm. They were so fun to watch and follow. Bridger was in heaven. During the semi-final game on Friday night Bridger sat at the top across the gym from us with Grandma Lake and the gang. We looked up after the exciting game to see him jumping up and down going crazy. So cute.
Here is Bridger with his favorite player, Matt Eddington. Bridger has thought he was great since last fall when he watched Matt play football. Luckily for Bridger Matt is so good to him. He scooped Bridger right up for a picture after the championship game.
The boys on the floor after the game. A crowd control guy informed us that they couldn't be on there because the floor was so expensive...whatever dude. They aren't going to ruin your floor by standing there for 5 seconds.
No championship game is complete with out "Scotty". He has swept the floors for as long as most people can remember. Now days he only does it for the 4 championship games. He is super tall-look at those legs-and I think 60 something. He runs the whole time to the tune of johnny b good.
The rest of the time was spent swimming, shopping, and eating.
The boys made friends at the mall play place.
Swimming at the hotel. All those people are our family. Yeah, there were a lot of us there.
So that is our State trip in a nutshell. Fun times.
