How do I even begin to recap our 2 weeks spent at home? Instead of boring you to death...I'll give some highlights:
  • After starting a day later than planned, we risked our lives getting to Rawlins. This included snow packed roads and ground blizzards ( snow blowing so hard that you can't see anything and blue sky above) that required the use of blizzard posts to stay on the roads. When we got to Rawlins, I-80 was closed. We were lucky enough to get a room and stayed for the night. I think Bridger enjoyed this the most. Sunday morning we were greeted by more blowing snow, but we got out of dodge while the roads were open. Luckily they were clear all the way to Mtn. View.
  • We had a great Christmas at my parents house. Everyone was there except Blaine, Angie, and Jace. We missed them. Christmas Eve the boys went and fed some animals on Carpenter's ranch. The girls went shopping for a few last minute food items. While dinner cooked we made Christmas tree forests out of ice cream cones, frosting, and candy. It was quite fun. We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Hamblin. Then we told the Nativity story and talked about our favorite Christmas'. It was great to finally have some small children to be excited about Christmas morning.Braden could hardly contain himself on Christmas morning and his excitement got Bridger excited. Bridger's favorite present was a "Handy Manny" dvd. He actually squealed with joy when he saw it (and he still squeals with joy when he sees it).
  • Christmas afternoon we went to Evanston to see Brent's family. We had fun opening presents and watching the kiddos play with their new games. Some of the bigger kids went sledding with their parents. I think the parents had as much fun, if not more, than the kids. Fun times.
  • Brent got to go ice fishing not once, but twice. He had a blast both times. I still think he's crazy, but he loves it. To each their own I suppose!
  • On the 27th we picked Jenny (Brent's sister) and her kids up a the airport. Bridger thought he owned the place and was not afraid to go anywhere. He especially loved the elevators.
  • The 28th was my cousin Dane's wedding. It was so fun to see family. We had a great time visiting with everyone. The luncheon was absolutely gorgeous. To see pictures you can visit here, here, here, or here. Our camera died just as we got there.
The rest of the week was spent just relaxing and enjoying everyone's company. We came home last night so we could be ahead of the big storm that is moving across the west. We were greeted in Casper and Douglas with 30-40 mph sustained winds with 60+ mph gusts. Wonderful.
We already miss everyone. I love coming home to my own place...just wish we were closer. Its back to the grind starting with church tomorrow. Only 8 1/2 little weeks until we welcome the new little one into our home. Yikes. I have a lot to get done in that time!!

I'm glad we were a part of your holiday festivities. Thanks for coming. It was fun to see you and Brent and Bridger. I felt like I knew him already from all the pictures I've seen. Have fun getting ready for the new baby. We love you.
