Family Home Evening

Tonight for family home evening we decided to take a drive to Wheatland. It is about 45 minutes from Douglas. We found a pumpkin patch on the internet and thought we would try it out. We had to call for directions and the lady was so nice. It was a little bit chilly when we got there, but we made the most of it.
The owner met us at our car and showed us all around. First stop, the corn box. Instead of sand they had a box full of corn. Bridger wasn't so sure at first. Had it been warmer I'm sure he would have had fun.

Stop number two was to see the goats. I grabbed a handful of corn from the corn box and Brent fed the goats. They were kind of aggressive little things. Apparently these people raise the goats and sell them for their meat. She said it is a trend catching on in the US because it is kosher meat...they tried to eat Brent's pants too. That is when we moved on to the pumpkin patch.

This was our first experience at a pumpkin patch. We were loving all the choices that we had. The selection was so fun because there were all different sizes, shapes, and colors. Poor little Bridger was freezing though. Notice the stylin' hat. The wind was blowing hard.

The owner started the pumpkin patch for her sons 2nd grade class. She planted 500 seeds the first year hoping there would be enough pumpkins for all the 2nd graders. They ended up with about 5-10,000 pumpkins. She has been doing it each October for the past 6 years. It was fun because she was so friendly and happy to see us.

These are all of our finds. they grow the little tiny pumpkins too. There was so much to choose from. I would hate to see what we would have come home with if it had been warm. Bridger finally warmed up and loves the pumpkins. We looked over and he was just feeling them with a big smile on his face. It was funny.

Those pics of Bridger with the pumpkins is so dang cute. He fits right in!

I love Halloween and pumpkin patches, I would like it more if it was 65 degrees instead of 45 (or less).

What a fun FHE. It is so weird to see you guys in coats when we are still wearing shorts. I would so much rather be there though, it doesn't seem like fall here.

I love the picture of him pointing at the pumpkin...too cute! I wish it were a little cooler here, too. It's 84 degrees today...too hot!!
